  1. After logging in, click on the cog located in the upper right corner of the screen
  2. Click Account Settings to enter your User settings.
  3. You will see a OneDrive settings option in your Account Settings page, as shown in the below figure.

Account Settings page in Echo360 with OneDrive option identified and navigation shown as described

The OneDrive Settings page allows you to "subscribe" to any of your OneDrive folders and SharePoint Sites. These subscriptions tell Echo360 to copy any audio or video media added to those folders into your Echo360 Library.

  • Click the Add OneDrive Subscription to open your connection to your OneDrive and SharePoint folders

  • If you wishing to connect "Personal" OneDrive folder and not a "Teams SharePoint" folder select My Files as shown above
    • You will also see the Teams SharePoint folders that you have access to, if you wish to connect these folder select the name of the team.
  • Click Next
  • Select the folder you wish to connect to Echo360 (as shown below)

  • Click SAVE
  • Now any Media files uploaded to the OneDrive folder will automatically be copied to your Echo360 library
  • You are not limited to connecting a single OneDrive or SharePoint folder to Echo360 just follow the above procedure for all the folders you wish to connect.

Note: Only media that is added to the subscribed OneDrive folder AFTER you configure your subscription will be copied into Echo360; existing media is not automatically ingested. (See the section Ingesting existing media below on how to rectify this.)

Warning!
It is not recommended for more than one person to connect their Echo360 library to the same "Teams SharePoint" folder,  it will result in every member of staff (owner/s) of the team receiving a copy of ALL recordings made in their Echo360 library.
If you co-teach within a Class Team and wish to automatically upload your teams recordings to echo360 it is recommended that each member of staff creates their own team channel and connect this channel to their library or echo360 course, as described above.

Note: The first time you connect your Echo360 account to your OneDrive you will be prompted by a Microsoft Permissions request warning.
Please accept these permissions, the application is configured by Echo360 in collaboration with University of Nottingham and not Microsoft.

  • When first connecting your OneDrive folder to Echo360 the folder you have connected will automatically map that folder to your Echo360 library.

  • If you wish to re-map one of your connections to an Echo360 course to automatically publish the recording to an Echo360 class this can be done by changing the Echo360 Section drop-down as shown below

  • In the drop-down you will see all the active Echo360 courses you have Instructor rights to publish to. Using the active search function may be beneficial just start typing the name of your course.

If you map a folder to an Echo360 course when your recording/file is copied into the connected folder a new Echo360 class will be created on the Echo360 course with the title of the file (including extension) at the time and date the file was uploaded.

If you want existing media to be ingested into Echo360, you will need to do the following to trigger the ingest:

  • Download the media file(s) from the folder
  • Re-upload them to the folder replacing the originals
  • These steps also apply to any SharePoint folder where media files reside; downloading and re-uploading the same file generates a "new version" in SharePoint and triggers the ingest into Echo360

Note: If you are storing media files on your OneDrive DO NOT synchronise your folder where you are storing the media with your computer C:/ drive as this will quickly use the free space on your computer.
