There are many websites that can help with your writing. Here is information about websites where you can get immediate feedback about your written work and suggestions about how to improve it. All you need to do is copy and paste your text into the editor.

There are three resources that we recommend:

  1. Marking Mate
  2. Common Academic Error detector
  3. Write and Improve

These websites use an algorithm that identifies common grammar and style issues, and suggests alternatives. You have to make the decisions about which alternatives are best. The final product is still your writing.

Some websites have sections on academic writing (for example, EAP Foundation, Lingnan University ELSS, British Council Learn English, and UEfAP, and others are devoted to writing specifically such as AWE - links to all of these are available in the Self Study > Websites section of the Writing Lab Moodle page.
